Unidentified gunmen attack
the headquarters of Aguata Local Government Area in Southeastern Anambra state.
Some buildings were set ablaze during the attack in the Local Government Area
of newly sworn-in Anambra state Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
Reports suggest that security officials and firemen have put the
situation under control. This incident is the latest in a long list of gunmen
attacks on government and security facilities in the Southeast.
Governor Soludo, recently instituted a Truth and Reconciliation
Committee, he believes will put an end to the assaults. He also declares an end
to the 'Monday sit-at-home', which followed the arrest of the leader of the
outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. Governor Soludo is also
expected to chair a State Exco on Saturday.
