"wise up Nigerians" Still on the August, 1st protest

A loaf of bread in the United States today costs $2.50-$6.00. Going by today's exchange rate of NGN1, 666.07 of dollar to naira, this is approximately NGN 9,961.42, yet prices are perceived to only be on the high side in Nigeria.  Here dwells the difference, Americans are gainfully employed and have the purchasing power to afford an average life even in worse case scenerio. Nigerians please irrespective of party affiliations, hold your governors and representatives be it senators or more accountable for our collective plights.

The essence of the monthly robust federal allocations to states is to service current and recurrent expenditures. Stop applauding your governor for constructing bridges and flyovers, which was contracted to foreign construction companies that cannot guarantee 50% employment to people of a state. Let the facelift begin with upgrading the living conditions of the masses than beautifying cities that serve as a conduit pipe for perversion of public coffer into private fiefdom (embezzlement).

Besides, when will the economically unproductive states learn to diversify and look inward into strengthening their level of internally generated revenue and turn away from the parasitic tendencies of relying on the federal solely for survival? The combat against bad government is a collective war irrespective of party affiliations.

Employment creation that comes in the form of permanent and temporary means (empowerment initiative) has the potency to solve most of the problems that affect the common man. The states are still receiving their allocations as such must be held accountable to deliver optimally.
